“My chiropractic story starts exactly the same way as many of you – as a patient!”
Early years
David was a National level athlete, competing in Track & Field as a Long Jumper. In his teens he began to suffer from recurring lower back problems that would prevent him from training, competing and even being able to sit comfortably at times. After seeking help from different doctors and health professionals, he finally found a solution when he saw a Chiropractor. The pain was gone for good and he could finally get back to doing what he loved and was really good at. It was at this point that he decided to become a chiropractor himself so that he could give other people similar results.
Education
In 2015, David graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) at the University of South Wales with a Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) degree. He then went on to work under more experienced chiropractors and mentors for the next 5 years, continuing to learn and grow. During this time, David studied Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC™) and Applied Kinesiology (AK) so that he could have the tools to help as many people as possible.
Today
In 2020, ‘couplepreneurs’ David and his partner, Tania, launched HEALTH SHAK with the aim of changing the way that people think about their bodies and their health, moving from crisis care to prevention. Their objective is not just to fix people’s bodies, but also to educate them so that they can become more in control of their health, along with the experts.
David has treated hundreds of clients ranging from Olympic athletes and international musicians to successful company directors. David is an expert in his field and has shared his insight speaking at local schools, universities, businesses and conferences such as TEDx.
In 2021, the West London Chambers of Commerce awarded HEALTH SHAK Best New Business 2020/21.
“In medical and health professions, black people are massively underrepresented, and I believe it is our job as professionals to provide social proof to encourage and motivate young people, in particular, to consider careers in health and serving others.”
David’s Mission
After discovering that less than 1% of Chiropractors in the UK are from black backgrounds and only 16% are aged under 30 years old, David has made it his mission to empower others and inspire future generations through representation and social initiatives.
